THANKS  TO  EVERYONE  FOR  MAKING  IT  SO!!!

IMPORTANT  INFORMATION  ABOUT  PRE-REGISTRATION
Pre-registration  is  not  required,  however  it  does  cut  your  wait  time  at  the  Check-in  table
&  helps  your  Show  Secretary  with  completion  of  show  registration  books  day  of  the  show  &
this  in  turns  helps  not  to  delay  the  start  of  the  show.
In  order  to  encourage  Pre-registration  -  We  will  have  a  drawing  at  each  show  from  all
youth  that  were  pre-registered  &  entered  a  goat  in  at  least  one  JLGA  class.
(This  does  not  include  youth  who  are  only  participating  in  the  Newbie  or  PeeWee  Showmanship  Classes.)
One  winner  will  be  drawn  at  each  show.
COME  ON  GET  THOSE  PRE-REGISTERS  IN  -  HELP  OUT  YOUR  SHOW  SECRETARY  -  GET  THE  SHOW  ROLLING!

VERY  IMPORTANT  NOTICE  REGARDING  HAIR  LENGTH  ON  DAIRY  GOATS
Dairy  goats  are  slick  sheared  due  to  the  fact  that  they  have  very  different  body  styles  &  are  more  angular  than  meat  goats  &  excessive  hair  length  can  hide  their  true  frame  &  angles.  In  the  past,  the  JLGA  did  have  dairy  checks  regarding  hair  length  since  the  class  was  new  to  the  JLGA  &  rules  were  new  to  JLGA  exhibitors.  Since  the  new  "Winter  Dairy  Rule"  went  into  effect  this  year  there  has  been  a  little  confusion  on  which  hair  length  is  acceptable.  All  this  season  it  has  been  noted  when  shows  are  announced  which  dairy  rule  applies  either  the  regular   slick-shear  rule"  of  hair  no  longer  than  1/4"  or  the  "Winter  rule"  of  hair  length  to  be  preferably  1"  or  under  in  length  but  no  more  than  2".  ALL  DAIRY  GOATS  ENTERED  INTO  ANY  JLGA  SHOW  ARE  SUBJECT  TO  HAIR  CHECKS.  As  per  JLGA  dairy  goats  in  the  0-u3  month  class  are  exempt  from  both  rules,  they  do  not  have  to  slick-sheared  at  all.

2012  Show  Season  Schedule

Please  note  date  &  locations  not  listed  as  confirmed  are  subject  to  change,
however  if  possible  show  will  stay  within  month  it  is  scheduled.

Special  Note  -  This  years  show  schedule  will  run  from  Feb-May  then  Sept-Nov
In  an  effort  to  work  around  some  major  goat  events  in  &  around  our  state  that  our  youth  are  participating  in.

accommodate  a  minimum  of  150  goats  with  the  possibility  of  more.

2012  SHOW  ORDER  WILL  BE  ROTATED
To  be  fair  to  all  exhibitors  &  give  everyone  an  opportunity  to  show  early  &  get  back  on  the  road  home,  classes  will  again  be  rotated  this  year.
This  worked  out  great  for  2011  &  we  greatly  appreciate  everyone's  cooperation  in  the  matter.  The  shows  will  always  start  with  Showmanship
followed  by  Market,  then  rest  of  classes  will  rotate  from  show  to  show.  Keeping  like  classes  together.

REGARDING  DAIRY  GOATS  FOR  THE  2012  JLGA  SHOW  SEASON
Once  again  during  milking  season,  on  a  show  by  show  basis,  we  will  move  the  dairy  classes  to  the  start  of  the  show  in  order  for  those  goats
to  be  show  uttered  up  &  then  milked  out  as  soon  as  class  is  complete.  If  there  are  no  does  in  milk  that  require  milking,  they  classes
will  remain  where  they  are  in  that  days  lineup.  Also  at  the  judges  request  Dairy  Bucks  will  immediately  follow  the  Dairy  Does  so  the
judges  will  still  be  in  the  dairy  mindset.  The  rest  of  the  show  order  will  resume  as  scheduled.  This  worked  out  well  in  2011  &
appreciate  everyone  cooperation  in  this  matter.

LOUISIANA  JUNIOR  SHOW  CIRCUIT  2012  SHOW  SEASON

JLGA  SHOW  SEASON  SCHEDULED  DATES  PAST  -  PRESENT  -  FUTURE
At  the  2009  JLGA  Fall  General  Membership  Meeting  the  membership  voted  to  have  a  set  schedule  from  year  so  that  they  could
plan  things  accordingly  like  vacations  etc.  -  They  also  voted  to  not  show  during  the  summer  months  any  longer  due  to  the  heat
&  stress on  the  larger  show  goats,  also  sitting  out  the  summer  months  would  mean  that  our  shows  would  not  interfere  with  the
LJSC  Market  Summer  Show  Circuit  -  The  2010  Show  Season  Dates  were  set  in  late  December  2009  &  early  January  2010
These  dates  were  going  well  &  the  general  consensus  was  to  stay  with  2010  show  dates  from  year  to  year
Unforeseen  circumstances  may  come  up  &  then  dates  &  locations  may  have  to  be  changed  if  possible,  however
from  year  to  year  the  JLGA  Show  Personnel  will  strive  to  stay  along  the  dates  the  memberships  voted  on  in  2009
